PURPOSE DRIVEN REHAB HEADS TO CHARLOTTE NFL NATIONWIDE TAILGATING
Carolina Panthers and Military Members to Battle it out Playing Video Games
Wounded Warriors to Lead the Charge into Battle
CHARLOTTE, NC (Oct. 27, 2011) – Carolina Panthers’ fans, local military service members and wounded veterans will go head-to-head playing video games inside the Purpose Driven Rehab’s amped up 45’ customized gaming RV this Sunday. Purpose Driven Rehab is a military support initiative in which wounded veterans execute high-energy tailgating gaming events at major sporting venues across the country. The Carolina Panthers will host the tailgating event prior to its game with the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 30, 2011. Purpose Driven Rehab is part of Pro vs. GI Joe, a 501c3 non-profit organization that in partnership with the USO and Activision Publishing facilitates live online video gaming competitions between professional athletes and American troops stateside and overseas. The Carolina Panthers have been Pro vs. GI Joe supporters since 2009.
Purpose Driven Rehab is a morale-boosting program that helps young military members who had planned to make the military their lifelong career but were forced out of active duty due to injuries sustained during combat find their post-injury purpose. PDR works to fit the specific needs of wounded veterans as they continue their rehabilitation and recovery process while providing them the opportunity to work with and for their fellow service members, meet with professional athletes and attend high-profile sporting events around the country.
